Hospice Care

1.png

Hospice care is a form of palliative care designed for patients who are nearing the end of life, typically with a prognosis of six months or less if the disease follows its usual course. The focus of hospice care is on comfort, dignity, and quality of life, rather than curative treatments. However, when this is presented the patient and family can feel very lost and confused as to how to navigate this option and what they can do as supportive options.

Some Questions patient and families face when presented with Hospice Care:

Where do I get Hospice Care?

Who takes care of me or my loved one during hospice care?

What are the risks and benefits of Hospice Care?

Are there any “right to try” options when in Hospice Care?
